Frédéric Chambon is the founder of Digital Lab Africa (DLA), the first incubation platform dedicated to digital content and multimedia production in Africa. This project brings together 20+ partners to support producers & entrepreneurs, and make their project happen across Africa. After a successful launch in 2016, DLA is looking for strategic and financial partners to grow as the reference platform for tomorrow’s content on a continent of many opportunities in the digital age.
Frédéric initiated DLA in his capacity as Regional Attaché for Media and Creative Industries at the French Embassy in South Africa. He has been in these industries for 20 years, first as a journalist for Le Monde and then as an expert for the French government, a consultant and a project manager. He has been working in France, Africa (Senegal & South Africa, twice), and in Asia (Singapore).
Based in Johannesburg since 2012 for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Development, he has been designing industry support programs with a strategic perspective. His focus has been on capacity building and innovative projects like Digital Lab Africa to support growth and talent for tomorrow on the African continent.
